How do I read CDG with my Liteon 401

My wife is trying to use some software to play her Karaoke CD's on the Liteon but no luck..

I have upgraded the firmware to the latest LDW401S code.. ES0J no Luck reading CDG

I tried to upgrade to a 411S but I just got the blinking light... I forgot to down flash to G before I did it.. I have not tried the 411S upgrade.. Will I be able to read the CDG tracks?

Is it possible to do this??? Or do I need another CD

@ chuckster,

To be able to play CD-G Karaoke CD's you need a Karaoke software player program installed in your computer similar to WinCDG by Tricerasoft.

If I do a Nero Info Tool It has the Read CDG Box checked...

Has anyone been successful using this DVD unit to read the CDG?

What if I convert it to a 411S will that help.

Sorry for posting twice but usually there are different folks who tend to gravitate towards different topics..

I am really trying to get an answer on this.. If I just need to buy a cheap CD drive that can read the CDG disks? Or can I get this Liteon upgraded to do it?

That drive should be able to play Karaoke disc since the drive does support it.
Try this freeware...well it used to be free so check before hand.
Its vanBasco's Karaoke Player and you can find it here. vanBasco's Karaoke Player. The only other thing you got a duff drive for reading CD+G...
