See if any one can make some sense of this.

I used to have a HP 200i dvd+r drive and I used DvdDycryter and Instantcopy to backup my movies and everything worked fine in my Apex 600A settop and my computer. The HP died and I got the LiteOn LDW-411S and tryed to do my same process and I cant get any of the burns to work in my settop player. They work fine on my computer. I have tried 4 different kinds of DVD+R media and even flashed the firmware and nothing seems to make it work .. any other ideas?

Terrified

The HP would write the booktype as DVD-ROM when you burned a DVD. The Liteon 411 does not. Your home player can only read DVD-ROM or DVD-R's.

If booktype is the problem, there IS a booktype setting tweak for the Liteon

It may also be that the player just doesn't like the +R from that writer (surpring if so, as the 411s - derived from the +R only 401S, is likely to be a better +R writer than -R)
