Just wait for the DVD-r or + media for 8 speed

No i mean that the DVD+RW of -RW
DVD+R of -R
have the multispeed of 1X- 2.4X -4X Recording mode
There is not a upgrade for firmware

First shouldn't this be in DVD To DVDR > DVD Burning Discussion > Hardware & Firmware? Second are you using the firmware that laz was talking about? Other than that this drive is picky about 8x media. So unless you use that firmware you might as well give up on 8x burning. Good luck
