LiteOn Optimum Settings

This might seem dumb but i just burnt my first 2 backup discs with my brand new Liteon 24102b Firmware 5S07

My PC is a PIII 933Mhz
GigabyteMboard
256M RAM
30gig 7200rpm ATA100 HDrive
Panasonic SR-8585 DVD-ROM
TDK Blank Multispeed to 16X CDRs
CloneCD 3.0.8.2
Buffer Setting 16.73Meg
Burnproof Setting 8.37Meg

The 2 original discs were
1. Office2000 Disc 1
2. Windows 98SE

My problem was the readwrite speeds of the Liteon

Disc 1 was read by the DVD quite quickly and when the burner was set to burn at 16X the burn process took 11minutes.

Disc 2 was both read and written by the burner with a read speed of 5min 30sec and burn speed set to 24X the burn process took 14minutes 14sec.

The burnt discs were perfect but the speed didnt seem acceptable.

Should the burnproof buffer or normal buffer be adjusted,
TDK discs be changed for another brand, CloneCD Version be changed or Burner firmware changed.

I hope someone can help.

have you got the DMA setting ticked in settings? if not tick it !!!!!!!!
