      plextor 40x cdrw

      plextor 40x cdrw are they for sale yet
      as someone on another forum says they have had one for 2 weeks
      which i find hard to beleave

      no he said it was the new 40x burner that he had
      i think its bulls*** myself as plextor only put on there website 3-4 days ago
      i`ve emailed plextor anyway to see if its out yet lol
      then we will see what the guy has to say

      here is plextor reply
      Dear Andy,

      the 40x CD-R/W drives will be available from middle of february.
      Anybody, claiming they have already one, is impossible.

      This is a theoretical value of the interface.

      If the burner has a 33MB cache then you will get it

      I think 6 MB/s (max) is a realistic value... its surely fast enough for the most...

      Tech TV did a test of the new burner and reported that it will burn 650mb in 3 1/2 minutes!

      so what's the point of getting a 40x Plextor?
      You only burn in 40x in a couple of sec and then the speed falls...
      You only save about a minute compared wint a 24/10/40 witch I got.
