Does NE1 remember where to get the MS hotfix for XP to resolve disappearing cd drives

please could some one post a link to where i could get the 'fix' for the problem of disappearing drive letters in xp in relation to adaptec/roxio easy cd creator (and nero - if i remembered correctly) and related cd/cdr drives reading/writing problems

i remember someone posting a thread and solution on this matter before but i cant find the old thread

Open Regedit, and navigate to

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

(Easiest is probably to do a Find on that CLSID)

Verify over in the right pane that you're looking at your CD drives.

Check for values named

Lowerfilters
Upperfilters

If found, delete them. Reboot your system, and see if your drives have
reappeared. It worked for me!
