HDD "write cashe" on HPT370 and Win2k SP2???

I have this problem, im running win2k sp2, and have hdd on IDE3 on the Highpoint controller (driver v2.3.0 latest).
When i go into the properties of the HDD, the setting for WRITE CASHE ENABLE is greyed out and unticked. Although ive run the IBM Drive Fitness Tool to enable the write cashe and it says that the write cashe is enabled........now im a little confused as to which it is....IBMDFT says that it is enabled and in windows its greyed out and unticked and i can tick it either!

when i was not using the HPT controller, and when the HDD was on IDE1 i could easily enable it in windows.

Is this because windows reconises the drive as being a SCSI...?

      please help....

Smile HPT 370 & WRITE CASHE ENABLE

Don't worry, I've an abit motherboard with the same controller, and the WRITE CASHE ENABLE is greyed out on all three of my harddrives that are connected to the HPT370 controller, under 2k, this is normal. your third party software from ibm for your harddrive may just be getting things a bit mixed up!
