Unhappy Audio CD's with Clone CD - what went wrong?

For some strange reason whenever I try to write a music CD with Clone the end product has no idea where tracks begin or end........i.e skip to track 2 for example and it plays from the middle of the track .......the same with all the others.....

Clone still writes data CD's correctly so I'm at a loss.....

I have a Liteon LTR-24102B writer with the very latest firmware revision

Running XP Pro with 780Mb of Ram

Incidently........Nero still writes the discs perfectly at 24x so I don't think it's a hardware problem.....

Any advice greatly appreciated as I like Clone CD and do not wish to stop using it.......

      Cheers......

Thumbs up clone cd is fine

I have over 250 audio cd (quote) backup`s using clone absolutly no trouble. It may be the brand of blank media a friend of mine had a similar problem

I too always use Clone for audio, and have over 500 perfect discs done this way all at 16X on a Plex.

pokopiko, I understand why (I think) you say use a dedicated audio copier such as EAC of Fureio (which I have never used, ist it that good?) but why do you say not to use Clone?

      cheers pokopiko.

What you are saying makes sense. I have EAC but have not yet used it. Is it OK with either the Plex 16X and the LiteOn 24X?

I guess with all the copy protection that is just going to be more so as time goes on then EAC will be the answer. Although I seem to remember Olli saying a few weeks ago at Clone Clinic IIRC that he was working on a Clone version for audio on the same lines as EAC. So knowing what a genius the guy is he will sort us out with the perfect answer to audio copy protections too!

For anyone interested........It turned out my problem was due to the useless CD Rom I was reading from.....

When I installed Feuro it took one look at the drive and basic said.....don't do it.......lol

Anyway I swapped the drive for a DVD Rom I had kicking around and hey presto Feuro was impressed (this can read anything).....and Clone CD works fine........

Didn't realize the CD Rom I was using was so hopeless at reading audio.......oh well, you live and learn......

P.S. Still its funny how it managed to use it ok in Nero.....

      Hmmmm
