I dunno have a firewire CDR, but would be really helpfull if you could post the exact version number of Nero, so maybe somebody else may help you !

Nero w/Yamaha external FireWire
NE1 have an idea what I can try to get Nero v5.anything to not give a "Windows protection error" or hang when it scans for drives ?
I have a Yamaha connected through a FireWire external port.
I've tried Windows ME and XP professional

I've tried version 5.5.3.5 5.5.4.0 & 5.5.5.1
If I disconnect my FireWire cable then launch Nero, it works fine.
I was using Nero with WinME at an earlier time but I forget which version and am looking to try earlier versions to repeat the success.
Would like to use the newer versions as I love working with Nero and the Mp3 Pro support would be a plus.

I do have a firewire connection for my DV camera ..
But as said I cannot test it with a burner ! It seems to be a really BAD problem ..
Systemcrash is something more than just a bug ..
Would be interessting what Ahead support would say about that matter !

Found my old version of Nero -- version 5.5.1.8
Installed it and it works fine...
Just can't get anything above it to work
