win xp

i am having a few probs with this os
after upgrading my pc to win xp pro it only lasted a mere two days before it would not boot came up with this

windows cannot load system 32 file missing or corrupt

amd k6 2 450
pc chips motherboard
256 ram
4gb hardrive

any help would be most apriciated

don`t try to re-install it. It won`t work. Instead, format you hard disk and perform a clean install.

You said you "upgraded" to XP Pro. Was this a upgrade from
Win9x???
