      audio burning question..

well, i installed the latest version of nero and it didn't recognize my hp cd-writer 8200i plus. i've noticed the last few versions of nero kinda sucked so i figured i'd try something different.

so my question is, what are you guys using to burn audio cd's?

      i'm running winxp pro.

I am using Feurio! as well !
A combo of CloneCD/Nero/Feurio!. Till now this one could handle all the things I needed ...
Sometimes CDRWin is nice, as well, but I am waiting for the new version ...

i went back a version in nero to 5.5.5.1. everything is working great now.

hopefully the next version of nero is truely win xp compliant.

Nero 5551 is supposed to be Xp compliant. If it works keep it!No reason to upgrade,so far.

      Lightbulb

so my question is, what are you guys using to burn audio cd's?
Personally, I use EAC (Exact Audio Copy) for my extracting
and burning. It is the best audio extraction period! Its the
      CloneCD of the audio world.

Plus, it burns provided you have a compatable burner
(And you do! Your drive (HP 8200i) is a rebadged Sony
      CDR120E, which is supported).

Yes, EAC works fine in XP (actually its faster extraction for many
of us than previous MS$ OS's).

What is greatest about this proggie is that its less than 1mb in
size (i/e no bloatware) and its FREE!

      Check out:
      --h**p://w*w.exactaudiocopy.de/-- for the proggie
      --h**p://w*w.ping.be/satcp/eac00.htm-- for setup

There's even a mailing list available at:
      --h**p://groups.yahoo.com/eac--

EAC can be complicated at first, so PM me if you get stuck

      hi,
I use recordnow max and filecd and find that this setup is not problem proned like i.e nero,instantcd/dvd,roxio`s prducts.OS win xp pro and the usual assortment of games, utils etc.I could possibly suggest to you to give it a try.the 2 mentioned products i find are also in my opinion that they are not so system hungry as some of the other programs mention but again it only an opinion and i am sure there are other users that are equally happy with the other programs eg nero etc, anyway thats my 2 cents worth.let us know what you settled for if and when and post the results hear.this will greatly enhance the lively debate on this issue which i do believe the jury is still out.
