Help - CD copy NASCAR Thunder 2004

      Hi,
Just joined this site, it is great alot of great knowledge out there.
I have NASCAR Thunder 2004 retail Cd, trying to make a backup copy with out any luck. I ran clonyxxl it said there was safedisk V2.9 on it.
When I try Alcohol or Nero 6 it says there are read errors. I don't know what options I need to be using. I am running Win XP and a NEC DVD_RW ND1300A.
Any instructions or advice on how and what I need to do to get this to work would be greatly appreciated.
      Thanks

    2. Use Alcohol 120%. Select SafeDisc v2 profile and keep waiting. This errors are part of protection
One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them,
One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them.

      Thanks for the reply.
I tried it again picking safedisk 2/3 as data type, is that right?
After doing that I ran it, but it still does not work. The image is made and burned to a Cd, but when I try it I get splash screen and then choice to start game. When I pick play I get the, NASCAR Thunder TM 2004 has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Please tell Microsoft about this problem box. The error signiture is, AppName: nascar_thunder_2004.exe AppVer: 1.0.0.2 ModName: ~df394b.tmp
      ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 000548ed

What do you suggest I try next?
Are the any other options or settings I am missing.
Getting a little closer I think.
      Thanks,
      Eggsinker

Errors in ~????.tmp are the result of trying to run an imperfect SD2 clone. I guess your drive couldn't parse the weak sectors properly. Did you have bypass EFM enabled or disabled? If it was enabled then I guess your drive simply can't do 1:1 SD2.9.x copies.

Also I think you will find that it is SafeDisc and not SafeDisk.

      Just so.

However, Eggsinker, if you're trying to play from a burner, you'll need to enable Ignore media type before playing even with a good copy.

Still, NEC burners aren't known for their ability to write weak sector patterns correctly so if you've tried burning with Bypass efm error both off and on the chances are you're out of luck.
