hi guys im new to this forum

bought this game which is brill..i want to make a backup any ideas how to go about it.

im using xp pro with a plextor 24 speed burner...no reader.
tried alcohol...just got stuck on 98%.

are there specific settings for a particular software..?

yep and didnt recognise protection although research says ring protech

used the latest alcohol with ass enabled at 500...copied it quckly but not successfully

It is indeed Ring Protech (Pro Ring) protected and this particular title can be very difficult to copy successfully. Lots of peops with drives that should be able to copy it successfully fail with this one (and with Robin Hood which is also Ring Protech protected) and this includes some bods that everyone acknowledges to be experts.

The settings you used with alcohol appear to be correct. However, since the copy failed, try using CloneCD which is still superior to alcohol with this particular prot (and laserlock) though alcohol's performance is generally better for nearly everything else.

To copy it with ccd use the following custom profile:

Read: FES on, IBBS (sector step 500) on, everything else off.
Write: Everything off.

Good luck. Since alcohol failed, you'll probably need it.

used alcoholer program with ring protech parameters to then start up
clone cd.....
well happy because im a lazy git who often leaves the cd out to get covered with peanut butter beer whatever i have and have ruined a couple of games like this.
