how do I back up MetallicA St. Anger

CloneCd and Alcohol does not even see the CD in either of my burners. One burner is a TDK CDRW4800B the other is a Optorite CD-RW CW2802.

Any Ideas on how I can back this CD up...

      Thanks Jay.......

      Welcome...to our forum
1.What OS are you using and do you have this problem with other CD's also is this a orginal CD your trying to
      backup?
      2. Please check your ASPI layer on your system most system are happy with v 4.60 build 1021.
You can check by using this tool aspichk or Nero Tool v103 or v2 all these can be found by doing a search
on here or on the web.If there are any files missing after your test you will have to install your aspi layers.
3.Aspi layers/drivers there are many type many of which are located on this forum also, but to most the
v4.60 is the most stable, theres also a package called forceaspi which will force install the aspi onto
your system on again this is also on this forum...
Just enter Aspi or forceaspi into the search field above just below the CDRBase.com banner this will located post
      with these in...

@zver he/she can't see the CD on their driver to tell you what data if any is on there and no protection was mentioned.
That is way I had asked tajay to check aspi and report back if this happens with other CD's..Still thanks zver for your help bro..

Heh best way 2 back it up is 2 throw it in the bin, it their worst ever album, metallica do NU metal lol

Thankfully i was able 2 listen 2 it b4 buyin it

Maybe check 2 see if U got Hide CDR media in CCD on, or Ignore illegal media in Alcohol, that might hide the CD contents

Still the disc makes a good drinks coaster

No protection here, either- and unfortunately I didn't protect myself and heard almost half of it...

Check my post in this thread .....sometimes you can tell what protection is used by checking the surface of the disc...

Thanks guys, So far this is the only music CD I haven't been able to backup (must have done a hundred so far). I even went to the TDK website and flashed the burner with the latest firmware, didn't work. Sombody mentioned turning off the hide CDR media, i'll give that a try. I'll also try nero..... (why I didn't the other night I have no clue lol).

1: Yup its the original Cd.
      2: Running windows 98SE
3: could it be the key2audio protection that somebody mentioned? Because both Clone and Alcohol say "no cd in drive".

Thanks for all the input much appreciated........ Jay
