What is the best allaround software?

Ive been using clone cd for awhile, along with cdrwin, and ppf omatic to apply patches, with all my psx games. Is there a better software that might even copy the entire psx disk without the need for a mod chip? (not concerning ps2 games.)

still waiting for my magic 3.1 to get here.

No matter what software you use you still need a mod chip or some other boot device.

I would say that Alcohol 120% is the best all around program.

For a start you could if you wanted get rid of both CloneCD and CDRWin as Alcohol supports both BIN/CUE and CCD formats.

The druid beat me to it.... but yes Alcohol 120% is really considered to be the best 1:1 copy proggy currently. Easy to use as well.

For regular burning though, Burnatonce cannot be beat. If you want to burn backups, data and/or mp3 CD's.... it's hard to beat. Freeware too! Do a Forum search and you will see how we all love it around here.

Agree with both celtic_druid and dxkim.

Currently, alcohol is the best all round proggie for copy protected cds whilst burnatonce is the best for regular burning (and you can't beat its price ).

from experience the simple answer is its IMPOSSIBLE to make a psx copy work without the (mod chip / factory made boot disk or cheat cartridge combo) in place as no current cd burner available to the public market can physically burn TRACK 1 of the psx disk ....this is what the chip/disk/cartridge replaces but for modded psx's any burner that can read sub channel data is capable or 99% of psx duplication using software that is also capable of reading both sub channels and burning with DO NOT REPAIR sub channel data

      these include ALCOHOL 120%
      CD MATE
      CLONE CD
      DISKJUGGLER

personal choice is clone cd as ive used it the longest
followed by alcohol followed by cd mate

Which Sony bud?! Some Sony CDR drives can do copy protection well, while others can't. LiteOn is generally considered the best copy-protection burner around. They are usually more inexpensive as well.

The boot disks in question have the "track one" pressed into the disk at the factory ! and no one has discovered a way of duplicating this at home due the the limitations of public hardware available

read this link Here at cd freaks its quite long 25 pages and they still have not got any further

Sony DRU-500a handles copyprotections very well, but you may forget about backing up boot disks- it simply can't be done.

Post Playstation 2 With DVD Decrypter....

      Hi to all..

Ok guys id like to know if your playstation 2 game is protected, how would you bypass it..

I do know that you have to remove DeCSS with DVD Decrypter..

What I want to know is how do you use DVD Decrypter to remove it and then use alcohol to burn it on a dvd disc....

      Regards Mojo

PS2 isn't really my area but CSS is only found on movies. DeCSS is the name of a program/code used for removing CSS.

For a PS2 DVD game as far as I know you should just be able to read and write with Alcohol, that is unless it is on a DVD9, which I think only like 2 games are?
