version 1 ps2 dvd backup

Hi Ppl

I have one of the first version ps2's I recently had the laser replaced and my old neo 2 replaced with a non swop chip, a friend lent me some of his dvd backups to test and all seems fine, so to test i tried to make a backup of my nfs hot pursuit 2 using nero 5.5 express my benq dvd writer and dvd+r disks, the 1:1 copy was flawless and didnt give any errors but when booting the disk in my station it goes into the browser menu where it show my mem card and a gold ps2 disk, which I select the screen goes black the back to the browser menu ? after making 2 coasters I bought some dvd-r which my writer doesnt seem to support, I am busy downloading recordnow max and dvd decrypter to try.
Anyone know where I am going wrong

v1 PS2's will almost certainly not play DVD+R format media

stick to DVD-R (which is a problem for you if your burner does not support this format)

to answer my own question, i finally have a working setup, i used dvd+r verbatim disks and dvd decryptor and this all works 100% i have working backups of all my ea games/sports dvds
