Trouble Backing up CD game.

Hi,

I am new to all this and I would very much appreciate some help.

I have a PS2 V10 and have bought a flip lid cover and Swap Magic Discs DVD/CD.
I have managed to successfully backup Simpsons hit and Run on DVD. But am down about 10 CDR trying to backup Medievil2 on CD.
I have read the tutorials and tried CloneCD, Nero and Alcohol without success, I just keep getting the dreaded red screen. I have tried all options available i.e. Normal, Pal, Ntsc video mode and normal + special boot options.
I am using a Sony DRU500AU +/- DVD writer with HiSpace 700mb CDR.
Can anybody help please!

After reading your description of the problem, my guess would have to be bad media. I have had absolutly NO problems whatsoever using CloneCD. (This is taking into consideration that you used the PS2 profile when you did your backup). I suggest you first try on REWRITABLE media to test your result firsthand. If it works well then burn it on a CD-R.

Thanks DD51, still no joy.
I am using the PS2 Profile and have now tried burning onto a Memorex CD-RW both with Alcohol and CloneCD.
I still get the dreaded red screen then blue and red scrolling bars at the edge of the screen just like the old Spectrum.

I'm sorry I'm not familiar with that game. I searched the web for info and it seems like a game that came out in 2000. I wish I could try it but do not have that game.

I'm really puzzled as to why you can't back it up.

I would re-check your boot methods, try again using a different brand of CD-R (such as Verbatim), or head over to www.swapmagicfix.com and try using a newer version (possible) of CDLoader to boot the game
