Question Do i NEED a modchip?

i have both a ps2 and xbox and am thinking about 'backing up" my games. I have read your tutorials etc. but none of them mention the necessity of a mod-chip. Also, do i absolutely (w/o using "knife trick") need 2 connect my consoles to my computer?

hmmmmmmmmmm i would ADVISE yes get a mod chip as the KNIFE methods usually end up BREAKING your systems

as for connection to a computer you do not do that with a PS2 its only the X-BOX but this is for making backups of your games using the ethernet/broadband connector

i would recommend asking about for a reliable person to do the modding if you are not confident to do this yourself

ITS THE ONLY guranteed way of gettin backups to load without damaging your systems and no doubt LESS Hassle in the long run

get the flip top for your ps2 it is easy to install .. took me about 10 mins... all of my back ups have worked..... they are about 40 quid and you get both dvd cd swap disks.... you can get them from... www.zoodirect.co.uk hope this helps....

Yes you'd be able to play it on a modded ps2. If you get a no swap chip then it's as easy as putting the game in and loading but if have flip tops/swap chips then you have to go thru a process of swapping another cd before you play your backup.

For xbox yes you'd be able to play backup up games if you burned them onto +/- R media with the modchip. yes immediately.

the ONLY way to duplicate X-BOX games from your ORIGINAL is via an ethernet cable connected to your X-BOX and to your PC ..once backed up it can be RE-BACKED up on a PC ...but you HAVE to have your X-BOX modded in the 1st place to allow the backup to take place from your original
