      Slide Card wont work

My wife purchased for me the magic slide card v2.0 for christmas.. I have a dvd +/- burner and have made nothing but coasters so far... 3 and counting. After some searching on many websights and finally finding this one, which by the way is great. I have a few questions....

      1. Is it true that only - discs are to be used for ps2 games..(of course I bought + discs)?

      2. I got a couple of - discs and backed up a game as per the instructions on this sight with the same software and nothing.. I get a screen with a red boarder around it... What does that mean?

      3. What does the blue boarder mean? I got that last night....

      thanks

      Thumbs up Questions Answered

First of all, - discs may work but they are not the only discs taht work. I use dvd+ discs and they work. Secondly a red border means that the game wasn't booted up right. Try again. I use Alcohol 120%. Lastly, a blue border means that backup works.

I think thats right. To make sure, you could ask someone else to double-check.

It also depends on which game u backed-up.
Some require CDloader to run them.

Try GRAND THEFT AUTO vice city
That game really works without CDloader.

Sorry bud but using only the slide cards will not work. You need to get a modchip. Sure your games may be good but it's useless without a modchip.

I Use the slide card / swap magic disk combo on all my back ups and it works first try everytime.

A pink border can also mean he is using the wrong boot disk. When trying to boot some JAP imports with the DVD disk i would get pink border, then i thought maybe it was in CD format. used the CD boot disk and wam, blue boarder and i was cursing.

I only use DVD-R, Never really have any problems unless the game has some sort of copy block like EA or something.

So use the correct boot disk. Write at 1X speed, and use DVD-R. you should be cool with that. I use decrypter or alcohal 120.

      Regards.

whoops sorry, I misunderstood. I thought you were trying with swap magic discs not slide cards. My bad.

There could be another problem too. When you try to boot a CD-r/+r backup are you sure you are using the cd disc of magic swap. Make sure you check the two magic swap discs and make sure that you are using the cd disc for CD-r/+r backups, and that you are using the dvd disc on DVD-r/+r backups.

Well I'm using slide card too and it's working perfectly.Ps2 doesn't 'like' DVD+R format.Only some versions of ps2 can read them.I'm using DVD-R and all the copies I've made so far work perfectly.DVD-R format is the most compatible format for dvd players.
