Hi guys, I've successfully backed up two of my games but I encounter the same problem in both. Every once in a while they'll lock up, when the original never did. It seems to happen in really jarring situations (like crashing on SSX Tricky, or going out of bounds and knocking into something). Both games were made the exact same way:
RNM for read and write
R-mod no solder chip
V-5 console
Maxell DVD-R media
Is this a problem with my chip, software or media? Thanks

Try burning the games on Ritek G04 and see if you experience the same problem.
I always burn at 1X and it doesn't occur often, but often enough for it to be a pain, and again, only when something jarring happens in the game. But I'll try the Ritek's, thanks.
If you always burn at 1X, you can go for the slightly cheaper Ritek G03 media. Same quality, just different burn speeds. (G03=2X, G04=4x)
