The best and easiest way is to image the disc you want to backup first then burn it from the hard drive image.Alcohol, discjuggler and the RNM will do this just fine.Read the tuts for more help.

I have never backed up a PS2 game yet but I am going to give it a shot. But I have a question. Everything that I have been reading says different stuff. I read that you have to put the image on your hard drive first. What I did was just copied the entire PS2 cd to a folder on my computer until I get this down. Can I still use it? I was going to use Alcohol 120%. Sorry for such a dumb question but I did not have a chip and was going to try the swap method and read all about that and then decided to get a chip. Yikes!! What I do for the kids!![]()

As bertieg has said, use software such as RecordNow Max or CloneCD. Tutorials can be found in our tutorial section or on my site.Originally Posted by bguss
I would personally delete the files you have previously copied to your HD and start again from scratch.
Good decision to buy a chip rather than use the swap method (presumably the knife method). Make sure you check out the boot methods post in the tutorials section.

Well, I gave it a shot. I figured I would go easy and try a cd based backup off of the game. I tried the first time with the original in my DVD/ROM and the second time I put the original in my CD/RW and just swapped the disks. It didn't make a difference got the same stupid error. I followed the tutorial for Alcohol and got to 39% copied before getting:
Error Message: [05/24/00]-Invalid Feild in CDB![]()
Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!
i tried copying one of my games to my hd aswell then i read this so i made an image file on recordnow max and then when i went to write image file it would only let me write theimage to my normal cdrw drive. Does any one know how i could make my dvd writer usable in this program.
