New PS2 Silver Edition (Mod Chip)

      Happy New Year All.

A few friends and myself just bought the PS2 silver edition with the intention to play via online gaming, we were also going to have them chipped. Reading a few of the threads I see a few issues. It seems we cannot play backed up games such as FIFA 2004 online, is there a mod chip that has overcome the online protection and if not would you expect one to become available ? I also see that there are different chips, is there one that is recommended or ones to aviod ?

      Cheers

      John

    2. go for the messiah 2 , you can turn this chip off , see the tutorials page and look for ps2 mod chip procedures

Even with the messiah you cannot overcome the DNAS protection to go online. The DNAS protection has not been overcome. Even if it does then it's not the modchip you're going to have to change it's the backup. You'll probably have to patch the backup.

Inorder to answer your first question jwildgoose you WILL NOT be able to play FIFA 2k4 online. IF you get your ps2 modded then you'll be able to play older games online like SOCOM online because it came b4 the DNAS protection was enforced.

The simple fix is to just play the online games with the modchip off and your original PS2 disk instead of your back up disk.

Just use the backup copy when you are offline saving the precious original from being worn out.
