Do you mean DVD+R blanks (not CDs)? If so, then yes... this should work fine. Use DVD Decrypter in ISO mode.

Question: Can u make dvd-r backups on dvd+r cds?

You can only make DVD+R backups on DVD+R discs. You can only make DVD-R backups on DVD-R discs.

It also depends on what format you burner can write at.

The games are DVD-Rom or CD-Rom

When you back them up the burning software writes them as DVD-R onto a DVD-R disc or DVD+R onto a DVD+R disc (and CD-R onto a CD-R disc).

Ok, the DVD-Rom is DVD-Rom format.

Once you have burnt the image onto a blank dvd disc, it will become whatever format the disc is you have burnt the image onto i.e. DVD-R or DVD+R

If you have a burner that can write both DVD-R and DVD+R (like the Pioneer A06/106 for example) then yes you can.

If you have a burner that can write only DVD-R, then you can only burn to DVD-R blanks. Same goes for DVD+R burners

A bit of extra info also
      1. You will need a modchip of some sort in order to boot your PS2 backups.
      2. You will need to use the correct boot method to boot the game, method depends on what modchip you have (check boot methods here)
      3. DVD+R can only be read on PS2 versions 5 and above (check your PS2 version here)

buying DVD+RW is a bad choice to play on ps2. Not all guarantee's that it'll work. It's meer luck. Also it the laser wear's out faster because DVD+RW is harder to read. Same goes for DVD-RW. ReWritables are no good. may as well stick with the regular DVD-R's.

i thnink it's casue the PS2 sucks at playing dvd period, dvd-r is a more rigid older specification, dvd+rw is the coming succesor.
Next year dual layer burners will be dvd+rw.

DVD-R is fairly old and is compatible with ALL DVD drives. DVD players, ps2, xbox, EVERYTHING. However DVD+R/RW is fairly new and is compatible with most DVD drives.
