      Question Ps2 Dvd+r

      Hello,
I'm looking into backing up my own PS2 games. Now my question is that will the playstation 2 play DVD+R backups (one note: the system plays backup dvd-rom discs without a hitch. Have yet to have a problem)? My brand is Verbatim Datalife 4.7 DVD+R. I'm hoping that they will. I recently purchased the flip-top conversion kit with the swap discs. But I am holding off on installing the kit do to the fact that if the system cannot read DVD+R I'm returning the kit. My PS2 is higher than a v4, I don't know the exact version but it has 8 screw holes. The system has no mod-chip. Also I will be using/use Stomp Record Now v4.50 to backup games. My burner will not register DVD-R discs. only +R/+RW
Thank you for your respones. Anything will help!

      Jitters.

Your machine should play the verbatim's with no problems.

Definately use RecordNow Max (check out the tutorial in the Tutorials section ), and make sure that you install the latest PX Engine update from http://support.sonic.com/Downloads/engine.asp

Hope that this answers a few of your questions

To find out ur version for ur ps2 check the stamp at the back. First see if it says NTSC or PAL.

      1. Then post the model number. It begins with SCPH and has 5 numbers and sometimes a letter too at the end. (eg. SCPH 39001 or SCPH 30001 R) after telling us the model no.

      2. please say the first 2 characters of the serial number. It begins with U or AU or sometimes even FU. (most likely U) then give the number. (U5#########). after giving this information I will be able to determine ur model .

As for the DVD questions. Playstation2's read DVD-R. But some ps2's also read ps2 DVD+R. like mine. You may get lucky. Before you can make backups you first need a modchip to play the backups. So you'll need to modify your system via modchip. (messiah, DMS, Magic, Apple, etc......)
