      hmmz, yeah sure ..
It shouldn´t make any differance ..

But depends on what type of music of course ... It works better for some types, and worse on others ....
For techno music, personally don´t hear ANY differance ...
On classic and folk there is a slight ...

But everybody should decide for himself

      Hi Guys,

I agree completely with Poco. Take a CD burned from MP3 and on with MP3Pro (same files) with nero and you will imediatly hear the diference. Some time ago I had a hot discusing on a Spanish forum about this matter, because I critized them for uploading files on this format. At that point not even Nero burned those files and if you converted them with dBPowerAMP to MP3, so they could be burned, was a waste of time. The files sounded awfull, because of the use of two channels by MP3Pro. When it is converted it uses only one of this chanels taking only half of the information. I have been critized for saying that MP3 is king and that it will stay on that place for many many years, and because of not beeing inovative, or in other words not going with the technlogy development. I believe in improvement, but you must be aware of the posibilities it offers and its lacks, at that moment you have to take the right choice and I believe that the MP3 format offers everything. I'm waiting to see the new MP4, that will be a smaller file with a better quality than the actual MP3. Lets see is going to happen.

      Cheers,

      Wink

      Hi again poko,

I must agree also on that, I just was comparing the two formats with each other. The problem with Ogg is it's lack of applications to burn and listen to. If Nero, Roxio and others should implement it on their burnig software, it can grow to overwin MP3. But as you said, it is in the background almost hidden and a little afraid of coming into scene. If it is in our interest, I hope it overwin MP3, but it will be a long way before that happens. I also hope it stays GNU GPL. Time will tell.

As I said in the previous post MP4 is supposed to be as good or even beter than Ogg, but not as small.

As I said lets wait and see what happen in the near Future. As I said everything that is in our benefit is always welcome .

      Cheers,

      El_Matador
