If you are using Winamp 2.xx, there are several excellent proggies that can do volume equalization.

Do a search at w*w.winamp.com under volume controll. RockSteady 2.1 is an excellent plug-in for your problem.

If you're looking to permanently alter the mp3 so it plays at a specified volume, try mp3trim (http://www.logiccell.com/~mp3trim/). It has a feature that lets you change the volume of the file to whatever you'd like.

Otherwise, use Wimamp with RockSteady. Or, my favorite mp3 player, MuzicMan (http://www.muzicman.com) It'll scan your database and set a volume level that's recalled when the mp3 is played.

Try this great program. It normalizes mp3's without having to decode back to .wav format.

Mp3trim Pro 1.6 is ok for songs lasting longer than 7 minutes, if you only want the ends trimmed!
The latest free version 178a is better, you can auto trim the ends and auto set the volume with it.
1.6 Pro only has the the auto end trimmer, not auto sound.
There is a new version 177a Pro but I have never seen it on any of these sites.

      Download Corrupt

I downloaded it twice, scanned it with an av program and a trojen detecter before trying to unzip it.
Both times it says download corrupt or (something else) the message is gone before I can read it.
      Thanks anyway

      Hi xbenchman
Twice I had the download manager turned off.
The third time I tried it with the download manager and got the same result (The Compressed Folder Is Invalid Or Corrupt)
It is probably me, I will try it again in the morning.
      Thanks
      Blakie
