Question Generating 1-track midi from wav or mp3 ?

I wonder what programs can do this?
Also which can adjust duration (like expanding & compressing).
I want to try to port some of my mp3's to melodies for uploading in my mobile (Siemens ME45).
Could you please reccomend more programs, both simple as well as more advanced?
Thank you very much for any assistance!

      You can't do that... Sorry.
You can get a Wav (or MP3) from a midi, but it's impossible to get a Mid from a wav or Mp3. There is no program able to distinguish all the different frequencies and harmonics from all the instruments in a audio file. It's only possible when there is only one instrument (and a very simple one, without harmonics, if possible) playing. And even in this case, the result will be very poor and disappointing !
Just imagine this : could you make a midi file from a recorded human voice ?
Some Scandinavian musicians are working on this for a long time (many years) but they didn't find how to do it yet .
You'll find some programs on the net (google > wav2mid, wave to midi...). Try them, but the result will be really awful !

As long as the answer is right, who cares if the question is wrong?
