Recording live audio internet chat

I am trying to record internet telephony 2 way audio conversations. I have used Total Recorder in software mode to do this, recording from either Netmeeting or Speakfreely. However after approx a minute the recording, when played back, has a screeching noise which makes it impossible to use.

Are there any other programs that record this type of audio? I would like to capture the audio whilst capturing video in NM with Camtasia and for that I need a pgram like Total Recorder.

Is it a trial limitation?

I would say to try recording using ANY sound recording program, from "Stereo Mix" / "What U Hear", but that will only capture YOUR speech if you engage monitoring - which could be devastating on open speakers, and extremely distracting via headphones.

Well I have uninstalled TR , in demo mode it will not allow me to test enough to venture a financial outlay. I only need the function of chat recording.

I will go on searching , I may end up just recording using an external recorder .. if i can figure out what goes where and how.
